The A’ Design Award and Competition aims to recognise the best around the globe. Think you’ve got what it takes? Then hurry, because the deadline closes on 28 February.
February 14th, 2017
Our design world is full of noise. In fact, it’s almost deafening. Brands, companies and individuals are perpetually vying for attention, and to be recognised for their efforts – which at times can be truly brilliant. Unfortunately, cutting through the noise can prove challenging.
Design awards can be great at sifting through such noise; when done right, they present the best of the best to the world. The A’ Design Award and Competition is one of them. Beginning as a PH.D. thesis on the topic of design awards and competitions at Italy’s Politecnico di Milano, it was subsequently built to give recognition to award-winning designs following an analysis of over 1,000 existing design awards and competitions.
Today, the A’ Design Award and Competition aims to provide a fair, ethical and competitive platform for companies, designers and innovators from all design fields to compete on, and to present themselves to buyers, publishes and the industry at large.
In line with these goals, the award offers one of the most diverse design categories around. These include Architecture, Building and Structure Design; Interior Space and Exhibition Design; Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design; Lighting Products and Lighting Projects Design; Packaging Design; Graphics and Visual Communication Design and much more (further design award categories available here).
Winners receive many benefits, including an extensive PR campaign, inclusion in the yearbook, an award trophy, a competition winner’s logo, invitation to a networking gala dinner, participation in an exhibition, world design ranking, opportunities to sell one’s designs and services, jury feedback, business network opportunities across various platforms, marketing and consultancy services, and more.
This year’s awards will be judged by no less than 83 international jury members comprising scholars, design professionals and media, and will follow a peer-review process with anonymous voting and evaluation of entries.
