Celebrating ten years of creative partnership with esteemed designer Jaime Hayon, BD Barcelona hosted a retrospective of Hayon’s work in their new Clerkenwell showroom during the London Design Festival 2016.
September 27th, 2016
During Clerkenwell Design Week earlier this year, BD Barcelona threw open the doors of their new Clerkenwell showroom. For London Design Festival, the design house lined its walls with Jaime Hayon’s quirky pieces to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of their collaborative design partnership.
Hayon’s designs for BD Barcelona are each injected with the designer’s unique personality, quality, elegance and wit – reflecting his overall approach to design. ‘Showtime’ is a collection that reflects both classicism and modernity – a contrast that has always been the essence of BD Barcelona, allowing pieces to sit perfectly within both domestic and commercial settings.
For the 10th anniversary retrospective, Hayon’s work is celebrated with new colours, lacquers and upholstery finishes for the Poltronas; additional glossy lacquers and luxurious marbles for the Multileg cabinet and low tables; new editions of vases finished with gold details; alongside two new mirrors, King and Kong, all of which carry Hayon’s distinct, and endeared playful trademark.
