Kettal Mesh (New Additions) by Patricia Urquiola
Drawing inspiration from architectural facades that allow light and air to enter while filtering the elements, Kettal Mesh is a family of outdoor furniture characterised by metal mesh. The mesh imparts lightness while providing structural support to the collection. At the same time, the industrial feel of metal is balanced by the warmth of wooden elements and the softness of upholstery. The notion of contrast is evident throughout the collection, extending beyond material application to design and construction. For instance, the sofa features gently sloping armrests that introduce a delicate lightness to the piece.
This year, new additions were added to the series, including left and right corner modules, a central module and a bench, alongside dining and centre tables, presenting new configurations to achieve the impression of a cosy living room in the outdoors.
Roll by Patricia Urquiola
Presenting an ironic and playful twist on conventional upholstery, two independent ‘rolls’ of cushions, connected by colourful straps, make up the ergonomic backrest of the Roll chair (also by Patricia Urquiola). The straps are connected to the supporting aluminium chair frame via two pins, which makes the cushion rolls easily removable to be stored away when not in use.
Cala by Doshi Levien
Doshi Levien’s high-rise Cala armchair has a statuesque presence and an elegant lightness. With a transparent knitted-rope weave, the armchair features a ‘latticed window’ to offer visual privacy, while remaining one with the surroundings. Composed of coated aluminium sections, teak legs or an aluminium pedestal base, the versatile unit can be used for indoors and outdoors. It can also be personalised thanks to an extensive range of metal coatings, rope colours and fabrics.
Stampa by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec’s new armchair for the Stampa line combines various aluminium manufacturing techniques. The chair shell is reinforced by an injection-moulded ring that connects the perforated seats, the back and the hydro formed legs. The ‘stamped’ seat is composed using the technique of punching metal sheets, creating textile sensations without compromising on sturdiness and durability.
Kettal is available in Singapore at Macsk Singapore.
