Established in 1971, Rang Mahal is an award-winning fine dining Indian restaurant and an institution in Singapore’s dining scene.

Located at Pan Pacific Singapore, the restaurant recently underwent a revamp in tandem with the hotel’s renovation programme.

Inspired by the restaurant’s forward-looking menu, SCDA Interiors has deftly combined Indian and European elements in contemporary, elegant space.

The entry is a theatrical experience. First, guests are greeted by a statue of Ganesh (Indian deity). They are then invited to walk down a passageway that is illuminated by a softly glowing vermillion frosted glass wall and candles, before arriving at the voluminous main restaurant area, inspired by the large dining halls of Europe.

Two rows of upholstered banquette seats stretch out across the main hall, with Statuario marble-clad counters positioned at each end.

Hues of cream, gold, bronze and burgundy harmonise with the brushed white-washed oak flooring and hand-tufted wool carpets, further enhancing the palatial surroundings.

Red frosted glass punctuates the silk-textured walls, and creates a semi-private dining atmosphere.

Indian elements include the projection of delicate motifs on the ceiling, and the custom-made brass pendant lamps in the shape of old Indian bells.

Exotic artworks and antique Indian bronze cooking vessels displayed on large shelves further underscore the restaurant’s heritage.
