Set to take place from 25 to 29 October in Cologne, Germany, this year’s ORGATEC promises to be a bigger event with the opening of Halls 5.2 and 10.1 resulting in a 20 per cent increase in exhibition space. In total, the fair will span 130,000 gross square metres.
Along with familiar international brands from the workplace design sector, the 2016 programme will also see other big names enter the arena, including Microsoft, Polycom and Samsung.
Participation by foreign companies has also risen significantly, with approximately 73 per cent of exhibitors coming from outside of Germany. A large number of these are from Italy, Spain, Scandinavia and Turkey.
As with previous years, the fair is expecting more than 50,000 trade visitors, made up of dealers and decision makes from SMEs, planners, architects, interior designers, founders of start-up companies, as well as executives from the procurement and human resources departments of large corporations.
Designed to address the demands of modern work environments, ORGATEC covers new launches and trends in furnishing, flooring, acoustics, lighting, and media and conferencing technology, and is positioned as “the only trade fair and communication platform that explores new visions of work.” ORGATEC’s “Contract”, “Mobile”, “Space” and “Office” themed areas provide valuable ideas for the design of inspiring work environments – in the office, at home or on the go. The supporting programme of ORGATEC 2016, such as conferences, talks and special events, will take a closer look at these topics.
Among the highlights of the fair is a Trend Forum, which will be moderated by Hajo Schumacher and feature a host of insightful talks and lively discussion rounds on office design and work culture by renowned speakers and international participants.
Speakers’ Corner also returns following its successful debut at ORGATEC 2014, with exhibitors once again given the opportunity to present their products and services to an international trade audience on the stage in Hall 11.2.
