Conversations with RT+Q Architects, Colin Seah and Claus Sendlinger, Ben van Berkel of UNStudio and many more make for a fascinating read.
December 9th, 2013
After the whirlwind of architecture and design events that took our little island city by storm in the past few months, we finally had time to consolidate and pick out some of the best conversations we’ve had, both with local and foreign creatives. In more ways than one, this issue of Cubes Indesign is defined by the many fascinating conversations we’ve been privy to. Of course, we had to share it with you, our readers.
From left: Claus Sendlinger, Founder of Design Hotels™ and Colin Seah of MOD
For starters, Colin Seah of MOD and Claus Sendlinger, Founder of Design Hotels™ have a candid chat with each other about a slew of issues including the curation of the neighbourhood, risk-taking amid rising land prices, and adventures in foreign lands.
Ardmore Residence by UNStudio
When Ben van Berkel of UNStudio dropped by Singapore to conduct a media tour of the recently completed Ardmore Residence, we caught up with the man one-on-one and gleaned additional insights on UNStudio’s first completed project in Singapore.
Office of FDAT Architects
On a smaller, but no less interesting scale, nascent architecture firm FDAT Architects presents its meticulously detailed office in Chinatown. Run by Donovan Soon and Francis Goh (both WOHA alumni), the firm is proving to be one to watch.
Office of RT+Q Architects
We also turn the magnifying glass on RT+Q Architects. Well-respected among their peers and well regarded by their clients, founders Rene Tan and TK Quek share frankly about the firm’s 10-year journey thus far.
