Cubes Indesign – Issue 64 Out Now

October 9th, 2013

Usually a side plot in the larger scheme of design and architecture, F&B establishments rarely get the glory and honour that bigger projects do. Yet, restaurants provide a platform for designers to create seductive, highly sensual experiences. For this reason, we’ve zoomed in on some of the newer restaurant designs that have recently mushroomed in Singapore, and look at what designers like Terre, Takenouchi Webb and Axis.Point Design have done of late.

On a more architectural front, our cover story places WOHA’s latest office building at North Canal Road front and centre. Its graphical proposal is a most interesting complement to two old conservation shophouses.

In our first ever profile story on an interior designer, we speak with Peter Tay, who lets us in on site visits, meetings and client presentations for this exclusive story. We also find out why his client list reads like the who’s who of society.

Our story coincides with Peter Tay’s Singapore release of his first monograph

Other stories in this issue include our coverage of the inaugural Singapore edition of Herman Miller REACH, an insightful look into the highly successfully Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and conversations between Yann Follain of WY-TO and the partners of design firm FUUR Associates.
