1956 by Tai Ping presents a new collection inspired by the romance of the Arthurian legend.
August 26th, 2011
Designed for the hotel sector, the Avalon range of carpets references the heroic tales of the round table, updating a medieval inspiration with the contemporary design sensibility for which 1956 by Tai Ping is known.
“It’s a wide-ranging, cohesive collection that makes a distinctive design statement while offering designers versatility,” says Bill Palmer, Tai Ping’s Global Managing Director (Commercial Division).
Avalon alludes to the decorative arts of the period – designs evoking magnificent ironwork found on gates, chains and body armour, the symbolism of ancient crests, and the architectural ornaments adorning churches and castles.
Taking inspiration from the less tangible elements of the Arthurian legend – such as honour and chivalry – also adds a distinct sense of lyricism to the collection.
Avalon comprises 3 coordinating suites of designs and individual patterns. While entirely customisable, the collection is shown in a regal palette including turquoise, purple, brown and gold.
