Pairing up with designer Tom Dixon, Circus is the latest design project to surprise not only with its form, which features large communal tables and a ceiling of mirror balls, but also with its function, for burlesque performances and pole dancing shows.

For the second year running, an inspiring shortlist of entries showcases the year’s hottest hospitality designs, spanning the likes of graphic fast food outlets through to space age bar concepts.

Drawing from a broad range of categories – from independent dining establishments to hotel bars, identity and website design and fast food – the Britain-based awards reflect the playful nature of hospitality design.

Among the shortlisted entries is the colourful Comptoir Libanais, by ‘i-am’ associates who created a bold identity for the London-based Lebanese eateries, as well as Sydney’s newly renovated Ocean Room.

Also in the International category, the French Window is among the striking restaurant projects to make the final cut, before the winners will be announced on the 22 June 2010.
