Legend of pop art is celebrated once again – this time, with limited edition sneakers by Royal Elastics with proceeds going back to the Warhol Art Foundation.
June 11th, 2008
Andy Warhol has given his art to Royal Elastics.
The shoe company will feature some of the artists iconic imagery on a new, limited edition collection of shoes for men and women, debuting in Australia this August.
The super-cool collection remains true to Warhol’s ideology that, "fashion wasn’t what you wore someplace anymore; it was the whole reason for going", and presents not shoes, but works of art for the feet.
As Royal Elastics continue to support artistic endeavour, licensing proceeds from the prints will go back to the Andy Warhol Foundation, established in 1987, which assists in the advancement of visual arts by fostering innovative artistic expression.
The collection will be available from selected Royal Elastics stockists, retailing from $199.95.
