A new Sydney project aims to lift the profile of park-side living.
October 16th, 2008
‘The Residence Hyde Park’, on College Street Sydney, is the latest inner-city project by Scott Carver architects. The firm won the City of Sydney competition to decide the design of the park-side development.
Including 87 two and three bedroom apartments the design sensitively appreciates the heritage nature of the surrounding area – St Mary’s Cathedral the Australian Museum and Sydney Grammar all nearby.
The tower has two distinct sides – one overlooking East Sydney, the other over Hyde Park and the city. These two distinct forms sit atop a ‘podium’ incorporating the lower floors, clad in stone to match the street’s historic buildings.
The interiors of the project have been designed by Parisian Architect Marc Seifert and coordinated by Australian designer Neil Bradford. The project aims to lift the profile of Hyde Park and Sydney’s centre to that enjoyed by London’s own Hyde Park and New York City’s Central Park.
‘The Residence Hyde Park’ will be launched in mid October 2008 and is due for completion in 2011.
