Jones Sonter Architects have created new sports and swim facilities for Sydney’s Knox Grammar.
September 5th, 2011
Jones Sonter Architects were commissioned to create a new Great Hall and Aquatic Centre at Knox Grammar School, with an athletics hall accommodating 2500 people, a 50m competition pool, and learn to swim & gymnasium facilities.

The space was required to meet the daily requirements of a school’s sports facilities and deliver a sense of occasion for school events, while acknowledging the school’s long history.

The hall features a grand entry foyer with ceremonial stairs that address the boulevard.
Officially opened on 16 August 2011, the building is the 6th infrastructure project in the state to receive authorisation from the Coordinator General under the National Building and Jobs Plan (State Infrastructure Delivery) Act 2009.
