Hub Australia opens ‘work-near-home’ facility in suburban Melbourne

Hub Australia, in partnership with Vicinity Centres, has opened Hub Local – Box Hill, a three-level workspace in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Box Hill. One of seven such facilities planned for suburban and regional locations across Australia, the new ‘work-near-home’ solution is intended to help increase people’s work/life balance, reduce workers commute time and inspire productivity.

Together, the Hub Local centres will help meet the increasing demand from Australian knowledge workers and businesses for sophisticated flexible and convenient working environments outside of typical CBD locations.

“We know companies offering their employees flexible workspace solutions, including near-to-home locations, are standing out in a competitive talent market. How and where Australians work has dramatically shifted over the past decade and workplace experience is king, with even near-to-home solutions needing to earn the commute,” said Brad Krauskopf, chief executive officer at Hub Australia.

“It’s our role to make the office experience more attractive than working from home – and when we do this right, we know the benefits range from increased local economic activity to higher rates of employee engagement.”

Designed by architects M Moser Associates, Hub Local – Box Hill ensures easy access to a flexible range of suites, offices, and desks. Exclusive premium amenities will also be available to members, including a café, business lounge, media studio, and a member kitchen.

The workspace aims to redefine the suburban workspace experience for the next generation of technology-savvy, health-conscious and modern-thinking professionals, whilst providing the convenience of having everything they need locally. It helps provide a connection to the local community whilst supporting the local economy.

“The launch of Hub Local – Box Hill is an exciting first step in our partnership with Hub Australia, bringing dynamic and flexible workspaces to Melbourne’s east,” says John Preece, chief property officer at Hub Australia. “Workers there have access to outstanding amenity, seamlessly bringing together superior workspaces, retail and dining experiences. Vicinity’s mixed-used strategy focuses on leveraging the existing convenience and connection to our retail centres, to meet the evolving needs of the local community.”
