Melbourne’s Museum of Modern Art cafe up for refurbishment

Heide Museum of Modern Art Heide’s café, in Melbourne, Australia, is undergoing a major $1.5 million refurbishment headed by Chris Connell Design, planned for early 2008.
Chris Connell, internationally acclaimed designer from Melbourne, holds extensive experience in restaurant design and a reputation for elegant yet simplistic style, making him a fitting candidate to design the high profile project.
His design philosophy is well suited to respect the heritage significance of the current Heide Café site, which is part of the award winning McGlashan & Everist suite of buildings. But at the same time, his fresh approach and unique vision will be an asset to the redevelopment.
Heide Museum of Modern Art has a unique environment, featuring both indoor and outdoor spaces and is located just minutes from the Melbourne CBD. Heide Café’s reopening is eagerly awaited for early 2009.
