The competition brief called for a scheme to increase awareness of Stanmore Library, housed in a relatively nondescript timber building amongst the trees in Stanmore reserve.

MAKE Creative created a bold and graphic new identity for the library building, wrapping it in playful oversized graphics, which make reference to the varied collection the library offers.

The colours and forms were designed to remind the community that Stanmore Library is a creative and contemporary civic space, no longer just about books.

The new exterior of Stanmore library has allowed the library to emerge from the garden and become a community focus, with library membership increased by over 10% since project completion.
