rovingwork is set to launch a new range of mobile work solutions at Sydney Indesign this August.
August 6th, 2015
The fixed desk is rapidly becoming a thing of the past as our workplaces and way of working changes with technology and society. Increasingly, employers are adopting new workspace concepts and agile working solutions to accommodate all manner of working styles, including flexible solutions for employees on the move.
rovingwork is launching a range of intelligent workspace products at Sydney Indesign to help tackle these modern work environments, including the Roamer, the Nomad V2 and the Rolling Nomad. Each design considers the commonalities in the way people work, while allowing for the impact of different professions and personalities on individual work habits.
“The idea for a work bag that actually helps you work first came about through my involvement in the mortgage broking industry,” said Tim McKenzie, rovingwork Director. “When moving between client meetings and the office I found myself constantly unpacking, setting up and repacking, time and time again. Not only was this a waste of time but it did not look professional.”
For Tim and his team, the solution came in changing the way they thought about bags. “Historically bags have been little more than a carrying device to get your stuff from point A to point B,” said Tim. “We thought, what if you could actually work out of the bag, allowing you to arrive and start working in seconds rather than minutes.”
This change in thinking lead the rovingwork team to develop a range of free-standing and desk mounting bags and accessories that allow easy access to the bag’s contents while you work, removing the need to continually pack and unpack.
As today’s workspace environments require a holistic approach to design and implementation, rovingwork’s in-house design capacity allows them to collaborate with architects, consultants and their clients to provide bespoke solutions to suit the needs of organisations. Patented security solutions also allow them to assist with document security and facilities management.
rovingwork will be exhibiting their latest range at Sydney Indesign’s Galleria.
