Reece unveils the revolutionary SaphirKeramik material, opening the way for new and innovative bathware design.
August 26th, 2013
Reece is leading the way by giving the first glimpse of the new revolutionary ceramic material SaphirKeramik by Laufen, which is set to inspire new innovation in contemporary bathware design. “We’re excited to be the first to share this groundbreaking new material with architects and designers in Australia,” says Reece Bathroom Marketing Manager, Belinda Geels.
This cutting edge material can achieve a thinner ceramic body but still provide exceptional hardness and strength. Instead of replacing existing formulations it inspires new innovation in contemporary bathware design, as it allows for new shapes to be created, which are more defined in shape and line. The living square basin by Stuttgart designer Andreas Dimitriadis, exemplifies Saphir Keramik’s ingenious qualities. It has a far greater finesse than traditional ceramic bathware design, due to its simple, slim structure.
It is named Saphir Keramik, or ‘Sapphire Ceramics’, for its natural ceramic appearance. It incorporates all the benefits that ceramic design portrays within the bathroom – absolute hygiene, resistance to abrasive cleaners and mechanical abrasion. Largely consisting of the natural and widespread raw materials like kaolin, clay, feldspar and quartz sand it makes Saphir Keramik a very sustainable material.
Celebrating the arrival of this exciting and innovative new material in Australia, Reece presented the SaphirKeramik living square basin at Sydney Indesign 2013.
