Embracing non-traditional linearity and organic, Gaudi-esque aesthetics, Brickworks’ extended La Paloma range takes breeze blocks to a whole new level.

Brickworks’ La Paloma Range is expanding! A sculptural, whimsical take on La Paloma’s classic offering, Special Shapes brings three exciting new designs. The Tash, Curved and Comb bricks may be standard sized, but their characters are anything but standard. Employing creative shapes and unique silhouettes, these contemporary takes on the breeze block are steeped in design history but built to last.
“Unique to the Brickworks offering, the Special Shapes range toes the line between traditional bricks and art, providing a solid yet elegant style not seen elsewhere,” expresses Brett Ward, general manager international marketing at Brickworks.
By using a sophisticated technical process, each brick in the La Paloma range has been shaped to provide a bold sense of individuality through every colourway. Each brick’s composition is made from a meticulously curated mix of minerals and clays, which have been prepared and crushed down to create a high-quality, refined finish. Designed for large-scale architectural design, a façade or a captivating feature wall, the collection’s versatility shines through its design endless possibilities.
Tash takes a rectilinear form, with sharp indents and angular cut-outs adorning one side. It is expressive and playful while retaining structural integrity and durability. Whether Tash is the star of a feature wall or a recurring theme, this breeze block adds flair to any design.
The Curved brick features patterned horizontal cut-outs and a uniquely sculptural rounded edge. When utilised on a large scale, this design creates a hand-woven effect and adds a remarkable textural element to the traditionally two-dimensional wall.
The Comb brick is a versatile and whimsical in equal measure. With deep, shadowy recesses and a wave-like undulations along one length, this design can be laid vertically or horizontally to create numerous effects. Comb is contemporary and sleek but retains a strong connection to its natural inspiration.
Allowing the shapes to do the talking, the Special Shapes colourways take inspiration from the glow of sun-drenched façades and the timelessness of natural tones and tactile matte finishes. Each brick is offered in the strikingly cool, charcoal Azul and vivid, warm white Miro.
La Paloma Special Shapes creates a new, refreshed perspective on the role of traditional bricks. Bringing a contemporary update on the classic, beloved material, combined with a rich heritage influence and the best of architectural design, Brickworks creates harmony between people and place through La Paloma.
