Elmosoft, the renowned leather available from Instyle, has received a new colour range courtesy of British designer Georgina Wright.
Instyle’s Elmosoft chrome-free leather has been recoloured by Wright, showcasing her extraordinary flair, with 33 new colours available.
The Elmosoft leather is known for its comfort and durability, and this redesign of the colour range has seen certain existing colours were dropped in favour of an update. For Wright, this lead to a process of grouping colours together, assessing their balance and tone, depth and strength of colour. The colours needed to blend across the range so there is a good group of light, medium and darker shades that complement each other.
“An object or material itself has an influence over what colours would be most appropriate, for it to find a most satisfying solution. One product in a colour, which is pleasing and whole to the eye, can be completely unacceptable in another colour,” says Georgina Wright on the colour overhaul, “A search has to be made to find a solution, which brings satisfaction to the market both in terms of a product’s requirements, and also in colours that bring beauty and enhance the material in which the product is made. The material and the colour become one”
Elmosoft is produced without chromium and, as a semi-aniline leather, combines a soft handle with a beautiful natural appearance. All marks become natural gifts on leather like this – growth marks, insect bites and healed scars are there to be seen and appreciated, making each hide unique.
