The common thread linking the collections is the use of intricate design and exotic materials to create unique works of art.

The Japanese Fans design by Florence Broadhurst (above) was inspired by Broadhurst’s travels as a performer throughout Asia in the 1920s.

Captivated by the ubiquitous hand-held fan, Broadhurst created a design that captures the elegance and movement of the object.

Alcaraz, from the Classic collection by Jan Kath, is made of unbleached wool and pure Chinese silk and incorporates motifs from Italian wall coverings and Indian saris, with a corroded effect that creates a striking aesthetic.

Jürgen Dalhmanns’ Folding Sky, as part of the Eco Project collection, uses Chinese silk and Tibetan highland wool left over from the production of hand-knotted Tibetan rugs, creating one-of-a-kind rugs that are also eco-friendly.
