NAWIC NSW invites you to hear about the emerging and fascinating field of Informatics and its increasing application and importance in built environment professions. Informatics studies the behaviour and interactions of natural and artificial systems, investigating the overlap between digital connectivity and cities, with work spanning both culture and design.
Michelle Tabet, Senior Strategic Designer and Informatics Team Leader at Arup, has developed an interest in smart cities, strategic design and spatial analysis. Michelle will also discuss some recent projects undertaken by Arup Informatics, including Walsh Bay Schematic Vision, Tonsley Park Strategic Design, and ’Social Fireflies’, an installation of 50 animated and programmed light-emitting robots for the Vivid Sydney Festival 2011.
