On Wednesday 21st May, sixty industry guests attended the designFARM showroom for a cocktail reception to experience the latest innovation from Steelcase, the Gesture chair.
June 12th, 2014
Five chairs were displayed centrally on a custom-made circular rug thanks to Tretford with guests encouraged to try the chair for themselves. With Gesture’s ability to adapt to the human body and extremely high degree of adjustability guests soon found which posture worked best for the way they sit.
Kristen Conatti from Steelcase Singapore, who has worked closely with Steelcase in the area of workplace well-being, was in attendance in the evening. Kristen gave a very engaging speech regarding a recent shift with modern technology playing a huge part in changing the way we sit, with Gesture allowing users to adapt their posture to incorporate these modern technologies in a more supported manner. Big things look to be ahead for Gesture, recently winning the Australian Good Design Best in Category Award.
