On the Town!

The architecture and design crowd knows a thing or two about celebrations. From launch events to intimate dinners and everything in between, events are the perfect backdrop for networking and learning. Here’s what’s been in the calendar recently.

An SJB-designed restaurant officially opens its doors: Frederic and Fred’s

The newest culinary addition to the Melbourne suburb of Cremorne is Frederic and Fred’s, opened by the Reymond siblings – owners of Bistro Gitan and L’Hotel Gitan. To launch the new venue, guests were invited to enjoy its ambient interior and welcoming hospitality with bites coming straight out of the kitchen. For the interior design of the all-day bistro and adjoining bar, SJB channelled retro European aesthetics with warm lighting and classic furniture alongside original vintage pieces. Welcome to the neighbourhood Frederic!

Miele launched its free-standing cooker with Shannon Bennett

Celebrity chef and Miele ambassador Shannon Bennett put the new Miele Freestanding cooker to the test at a special and incredibly intimate launch event. Guests were treated to a workshop-style demonstration, followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner. The new cooker has been hotly awaited in Australia and with it’s sleek but sturdy style it’s sure to make a mark in any modern kitchen.

Futurespace client party

Wellness is about so much more than exercise and diet; it includes getting plenty of good quality sleep, having meaningful relationships and balancing your work and personal lives, amongst other things.

This theme of ‘wellness’ as a holistic concept is currently top of mind for many businesses and individuals – and the team at Futurespace is no exception. The studio’s much-anticipated annual event celebrated everything to do with wellness – from the Kombucha cocktails (which were actually delicious!) to the Mindfulness Room and the Navy Seal ‘box breathing’ technique that guests were instructed in.

With a theme of #FutureYou, around 200 guests turned out on a beautiful Spring evening in Sydney to celebrate the successes of the past 12 months as well as toast a happy and healthy year ahead. A great night was had by all, and the wellness initiatives certainly contributed to this being Futurespace’s biggest and best annual event yet!

Winning Appliances throws open its doors in Richmond

Winning Appliances invited over 300 design and supplier guests to officially open its incredible new showroom in Richmond in October. The large and spacious old warehouse has been transformed into a culinary destination. The night included local Victorian drinks and a delicious handcrafted menu. An outstanding feature of the night was watching Aboriginal artist Stan Yarramunua paint a Smeg fridge live through the event, which is to go home with one lucky guest.

Woven Image celebrates 15 years of EchoPanel®

A firm favourite amongst designers, EchoPanel® has been reshaping our workplaces for 15 years. A milestone for such a well-loved product needed an event to celebrate.
