The 11th International Architecture Biennale comes to Sydney in 2009.
December 5th, 2008
Following Australia’s success at the 11th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, models from the Abundant Australian Pavillion will be on show in Sydney for the first time at Object Gallery.
The Abundant exhibition showcased over 300 interpretive models from abstract forms to architectural fragments, responding to the theme ‘Out there: architecture beyond the building’.
The Sydney exhibition will see 100 of these models on show from emerging and established practices from across Australia.
“With so many ideas and concepts explored through new materials, new forms and new ways of thinking,” says Object Director, Steven Pozel, “the models themselves are also beautiful, striking and provocative objects in their own right”.
The exhibition, supported by the Australian Institute of Architects and the Turnbull Foundation, will run from 7 February – 5 April 2009 at Object Gallery 417 Bourke St Surry Hills.
