Winners of 2008 Laurence Olivier Award for Set Design performing in Brisbane this April

Handspring Puppet Company, the masterminds behind upcoming Brisbane Powerhouse show, ’Woyzeck on the Highveld’, have been rewarded for their design genius this year, winning the 2008 Laurence Olivier Award for Set Design for their work on the production of ’War Horse’.
Established in 1976, the Laurence Olivier Awards are the most prestigious awards in London theatre with Set Design being one of the most hotly contested categories.
Handspring Puppet Company designed the large-scale horse puppets that had audiences gasping and they bring the same puppetry techniques to Brisbane Powerhouse this April.
This legendary production of ’Woyzeck on the Highveld’ is the first collaboration between Handspring Puppet Company and renowned Johannesburg-based artist and film maker, William Kentridge.
