Angela Ferguson will now join the small number of women taking on important “c-suite” senior management positions
March 12th, 2013
Angela Ferguson has been announced as the new Managing Director of futurespace.
Currently the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Businesswoman of the Year, Ms Ferguson has been a director and owner of futurespace since October 2009 when she merged her own successful practice (Ferguson Design Studio) with that of futurespace.
Over the last three years Ms Ferguson has established her role in the business and has played an instrumental role in the organization’s success. Ms Ferguson brings to the position her holistic approach to business and her experience of working in the construction industry for the last 20 years. With a background in interior design and project co-ordination Ms Ferguson has extensive experience in the Australian market working with a diverse mix of clients.
In addition to giving mant peer industry talks, Ms Ferguson has tutored in design and written extensively on design issues for the local and international architectural press.
“futurespace is a renowned practice and has accomplished a huge amount since its establishment in 2001. I am looking forward to driving the next evolution of futurespace and to working with the team to evolve into new markets and industry sectors” Ms Ferguson said.
Owner and outgoing Managing Director Stephen Minnett strongly supports the restructure. “This is a fantastic opportunity to realize the potential of the business and to acknowledge Angela’s leadership expertise. We will spend the next 100 or so days going through an onboarding process with a new way forward ready for implementation on 1 July” explains Mr Minnett.
