A designer collaboration at artisan during Brisbane Indesign

It’s just been announced that the new Bambi Frame Screen series will be launched at Brisbane Indesign in artisan’s Fortitude Valley design store.

The result of a collaboration between to Brisbane’s favourites – emerging designer Fukutoshi Ueno and established fashion house Easton Pearson – the screens capture the grace and charm of the deer and prompt a sense of nostalgia and whimsy. Both beautiful and functional, the clothes-hanging frames enhance any interior as artworks in their own right.

Exploring the partnership between natural and man-made environments is an extension of Easton Pearson’s existing approach: “We work in partnership through all passages of our process: planning, designing, finishing, traveling and selling. Personal connections are at the heart of our process and are essential to the way we work,” comments Easton.

And the partnership doesn’t stop there – this project also involves Richard Park of Blok Furniture, as the expert craftsman (using quality marine plywood with digital print treatment or dark Walnut wood with neon or silver paint), and Daniel from Suburban Glass (who has facilitated the production of two elegant glass versions of Bambi – ‘Le Smoking’ NOIR (black glass) and Bambi ‘Le Smoking’).

The exhibition will officially launch Thursday 31 May 6 – 8pm supported by Laruche and Absolut Vodka, who will be creating a signature ‘Bambi’ cocktail for the event.
