How can we better understand and cultivate creative intelligence? Frost*collective's deFrost* talk series returns, hosted by Cynthia Macnee.

Creativity has been identified as the most important attribute for future leaders in the 21st century. While we don’t know precisely what the future world of work will look like, what we do know, via a growing body of research, is that creativity and flexibility are increasing at the top of the must-have leadership skills.

Cynthia Macnee is the Programs Manager, Innovation and Creative Intelligence at UTS, and part of an exciting unit working across the university as well as with industry partners to pilot and prototype new models of teaching, learning and industry engagement. The unit’s research and programs explore emerging technology, ways of thinking and creative practice. Macnee has enjoyed a long career in the arts, media and creative industries covering New York, New Zealand and Australia that has always involved innovative projects and passionate campaigns. She has held management level positions relating to start- up business development, product and range development, media production, operations, events and curation. She is an advocate for the support and growth of creative industries globally and an expert at developing creative talent to achieve commercial success.

Initially started as creative think-tanks for clients, partners and staff, Frost* first opened up it’s long running deFrost* talk series to the wider business and creative communities in 2012. Curated by Vince Frost, the deFrost* lectures feature speakers drawn from his broad network of leading local and international thinkers and achievers. The evenings of debate and discussion offer the opportunity to hear inspiring insights and participate in the development of ideas at the bleeding edge of commercial creativity and business.

At this edition of deFrost*, Macnee will discuss how companies can inspire creativity and improve customer engagement through an understanding of creative intelligence and the use of a dynamic and open-ended toolbox of strategies. UTS’s new buildings have been carving Chippendale and Ultimo as one of the most creative, design focused areas of Sydney – at deFrost* Macnee will also explain how UTS is leading the way in this area through a number of innovative projects and initiatives.
