From LEGO to Paul Keating – exploring critical aspects of sustainability and the city’s built environment.
October 1st, 2008
The Sydney Architecture Festival, to be held on World Architecture Day, 6 October 2008, is an opportunity for the general public to explore and engage with the city’s architecture and built environment through various planned activities, exhibitions and talks.
Be it watching architects and children create cityscapes from LEGO, or listening to the Festival’s Headline Talk at the Sydney Opera House (presented by Paul Keating) the Festival has something for everyone.
Focusing on Circular Quay – the Gateway to Sydney – the Festival emphasises and introduces new perspectives on “the importance of good design in achieving a sustainable, healthy and culturally rich built environment”, while actively encouraging and celebrating an appreciation of the city’s architecture and good design.
The Architecture Association of Australia, the Australian Institute of Architects, and the NSW Architects Registration Board have joined forces to present the 2008 Sydney Architecture Festival.
