Its showrooms sit among the neighbourhood’s boutiques, galleries, cafés and terraces, creating the kind of precinct that rewards exploring on foot. For Saturday Indesign 2026, Oxford Street and its surrounds will come alive with new collections, immersive sound, hands-on making, live craftsmanship, thoughtful conversations and plenty of good food along the way.
There’s a strong focus on the thinking and processes behind design in Paddington this year. Muuto x Living Edge will explore the connection between our senses and wellbeing, while Momo Handles invites visitors into the journey from first sketch to final detail. At Jardan, new Australian-designed furniture meets the tactile pleasure of making something by hand, while nearby Hästens and Great Dane turn their attention to craftsmanship, time and longevity.
With most locations clustered along Oxford Street and Muuto x Living Edge nearby on Queen Street, Paddington is an easy precinct to explore at your own pace. Here’s everything happening throughout the day.

New collections, material stories and moments to pause will unfold across Paddington from 9am to 5pm, giving visitors plenty to discover between the precinct’s scheduled sessions.
At Jardan, discover Shoreline, the brand’s latest outdoor furniture collection, alongside the new Etta sofa and accompanying table collection. Inspired by the landscapes, rituals and rhythms of Australian living, the collections set the scene for a day of design and relaxed hospitality. Aplenty will serve a curated grazing spread throughout the day, with seasonal gelato from Two Spoons arriving from 2pm.
Over at Muuto x Living Edge, the Danish tradition of kaffepause offers a moment to slow down over a thoughtfully curated coffee. More than a refreshment stop, Kaffepause reflects Muuto’s interest in intentional design and the simple rituals that create space for wellbeing, conversation and connection.
Start the morning with sound, making and craftsmanship
Paddington’s timed event program begins at 9am at Muuto x Living Edge with the first session of Soundscape, an immersive audio experience exploring the emerging field of neuroaesthetics. Rather than looking at design as something purely visual, Soundscape considers how intentional spaces can shape the way we feel, connect and experience the world around us. Six 30-minute sessions will run at 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm, making the experience easy to build into your route. Free session registration is required.
At 10am, Momo Handles will take visitors behind the development of an everyday object in Concept to Creation. The 30-minute presentation follows a handle from its earliest inspiration through sketching, modelling, 3D printing and refinement, revealing the many decisions involved in turning an idea into a resolved product.
At the same time, Jardan will slow things down with Object & Ceramic Design, a beginner-friendly workshop led by Luke and Susan of OCD Studio. Running from 10am to 12pm, the session introduces the fundamentals of hand-building as participants create a considered platter for the home. Each finished piece will be glazed and fired by OCD Studio, with collection or delivery to follow. Places are limited, so advance booking is recommended.
Craftsmanship also comes into focus at Hästens with The Art of the Stitch, where a Master Side Stitcher will visit Australia for the first time. Usually seen only inside the brand’s Dream Factory in Sweden, side-stitching is a highly specialised technique perfected through years of practice. Across three intimate presentations at 10am, 12pm and 2pm, visitors can meet the Master Side Stitcher, watch the craft in motion and try their hand at the technique themselves.
At 10.30am, the first presentation of The Shape of Time begins at Great Dane. How long does something take to make? What makes us keep it? How do we care for the things we want to keep forever? Through conversation and craftsmanship, the experience asks visitors to consider what happens when we allow things to take time, and how that time shapes the way we value, use and care for the objects around us. Sessions will run at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
From 11am to 2pm, Momo Handles moves from showing the design process to inviting visitors into it. Designed by You offers the opportunity to sketch and model a handle you’d genuinely like to see brought to market, exploring form, function and creativity along the way. Designs will be reviewed after the event, with a winning concept announced at a later date. As the activation runs across three hours, visitors can join when it best suits their day.
At 2pm, Momo Handles turns its attention to the decisions that can quietly resolve an entire interior. Finalising Finishes explores how hardware tones, textures and profiles work with warm timber grains, painted surfaces and contemporary laminates. The discussion offers a practical look at selecting finishes that bring a joinery scheme into balance and make the final result feel considered.
Paddington’s repeated sessions offer plenty of flexibility, but it’s still worth planning around the experiences you most want to attend. Leave a little room between scheduled events to explore each showroom, meet the people behind the products and discover the all-day experiences along the way. Most Paddington locations are within walking distance of one another, while complimentary hop-on, hop-off buses will connect the precinct with Surry Hills, Waterloo and Alexandria throughout the day.
