A simple folding mechanism enables the worktop to be flipped down into place in moments, to create a meeting space. And flipped up and rolled away for quick and space-efficient storage.

Germany – red dot award: product design
The meeting table FlipTop Twin received a Red Dot Award 2010 in the Product Design category. The international “red dot design award” is one of the largest and most famous design competitions in the world. Based in Germany, red dot attracts submissions from more than 50 countries.

During FlipTop Twin development process we considered environmental impacts of our decisions at every stage of the product’s lifecycle.
Life Cycle Assessment
Steelcase takes a life-cycle approach to the design, use and disposal of its products. From Materials, Production, Transportation, and Use through to End of Life, each element in the FlipTop Twin range of tables has been carefully considered to reduce its impact on environment.
Materials
FlipTop Twin is made from up to 62% recycled content by weight. It was designed to minimize the number of components and different materials to eliminate waste, and is PVC free.
Production
FlipTop Twin was designed to minimize energy consumption, waste and environmental impact in the production process. It is assembled in our Puchong Malaysia plant, which is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. The powder coating is virtually VOC and heavy metal free.
Transport
Minimizing the amount of packaging materials used reduces energy consumption during transportation and distribution, indirectly reducing the carbon footprint.
Use
FlipTop Twin is designed for a long lifecycle, with multi-use functionality to optimize its use. It meets ANSI/BIFMA M7.1/X7.1 indoor air quality standards.
End of life
FlipTop Twin is 43% recyclable by weight. It is designed for easy disassembly. The packaging is 100% recyclable.
