Simple mechanics and bright colours combine in a cute and functional storage idea.

Autobox was inspired by the simple mechanics of the Jack-in-the-Box and created by UK-based designers Shai Akram and Andrew Haythornthwaite.
Using levers and cams, each ’box’ is animated by a particular movement to reveal its contents in a surprising way – whether it be cigars, cocktails, board games or anything else that can be hidden inside.
Haythornthwaite and Akram’s work is characterised by their box-like furniture designs that explore simple gestures and movements.
