Staron® Solid Surfaces by Samsung is made of natural minerals and blended with pure acrylic to create a premium solid surface that pushes the boundaries of design.

Prdesign recently used Staron® for RedSpoon Frozen Culture flagship unique store fitout in Fremantle, Western Australia. The store space was very small and narrow so the concept of one continuous and striking bench was designed. Staron® was the perfect surface solution for this application due to its seamless, non porous and thermoformable nature.
Prdesign’s Peter Raynes created a bench that would be a centre feature and look like a piece of structural art that represented the quality of the premium Frozen Yoghurt store. This piece also includes all the equipment and preparation areas required to store and serve the 20 bowls of toppings. The client brief to Peter was to avoid a clinical white store and found that Staron® had a ’softening’ effect.
The bench service areas needed to be practical for it’s application in a busy commercial shop – whilst complementing the other modern, design features of the fitout. Staron® Solid Surfaces achieved clean lines with curved rounded edges. Staron® in colours Bright White and Universe was used for the serving areas, customer counter, kitchen preparation area and box seating.
