The winner of the 2008 ’The Edge’ exhibition lit up the room at the AIFF with his Melee Pendant Lamp
February 13th, 2008
The highlight of the Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) is always ’The Edge’ exhibition.
This year, all 33 entries – from the mix of both student and professional designers – were impressive. But it was Brad Stebbing’s Melee Lamp that shone brightest.
The judges clearly agreed as he was presented with one of the three awards of the day – for the Best Student Design.
Flat packed and with a modern take on the traditional pendant lamp, the Melee Pendant Lamp (pictured with model) demands attention. Ofcourse – it’s made from sustainable sources too.
Further setting it apart from similar flat packed lamp designs is the gorgeous detailing of the cut-out plywood – designed to resemble lots of little men holding hands.
Brad was also in the design spotlight in 2007 as a finalist in both the Breville Young Designer Awards, and the QANTAS Spirit of Youth Awards.
