May 29th, 2008
German born, Hong Kong based photographer, Michael Wolf, has spent the last ten years documenting the standard of living in China.
As an artist, Wolf is strongly concerned with the topic of vernacular culture- his work dealing with the issue of the cultural identity in Hong Kong.
The exhibition “Architecture of Density” features the shocking and fascinating state of apartment living in Hong Kong.
Although the work is not new- it was exhibited in New York in 2004 and published by Thames and Hudson in 2005 – the shock value will linger years beyond the time of capture.
