Indesign #64 celebrates the achievements of Leone Lorrimer, CEO of dwp | suters, champion architect, and now, Indesign luminary.
March 14th, 2016
With a substantial career spanning a myriad of positions from strategist, project leader, researcher, and, of course, architect, Leone Lorrimer is a prominent figure in the architecture and design industry. As a fierce campaigner for gender equality and sustainable cities, Lorrimer’s extraordinary career is hallmarked by her endless enthusiasm and passion for her projects.
Lorrimer is the current CEO of dwp | suter and has overseen the rebranding of the firm and spearheaded its expansion in areas of specialisation, adding workplace, residential, retail and hospitality to health, education, aged care, and sports. She is dedicated to encouraging design quality, saying, “I wanted to create a culture where even the last technician doing the last detail is passionate about design”.
In her previous capacity as a director for Woods Bagot, Lorrimer presided over the construction of the multi-award-winning Qatar Science and Technology Park before moving on to major master planning projects around the world for the city of Dubai, and for three new museums in Abu Dhabi, designed by international architecture heavyweights Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, and Foster + Partners.
On Thursday the 10th of March, Indesign, dwp | suters, and the architecture and design community came together to celebrate an outstanding career, and a remarkable woman: Leone Lorrimer.
