Interior and product designer, Gavin Harris, shares his experience as a Woven Image Imagination Partner.
October 20th, 2015
When did you become an Imagination Partner?
Mid last year 2014 – it developed from my interest in Echo panel and what could be done with it in an architectural way. I have used echo
What attracted you to the partnership?
It was more the chance to work with Woven Image on using echo panel in an interesting way that other designers could then use for their own design projects.
What does this initiative mean for you?
It allows people and their idea’s be show cased to a wider audience
What have you been working on for/within this program?
fold-it! Has been my product development – this allows echo panel to be used in ceilings, wall panels and in joinery elements. But the best thing it can be flat packed then the joinery can use it as per the designer’s ideas – opening it for many varied uses.
What have been the biggest challenges here?
All products have their development issues – even the simple depth of the V cuts to the panel took a while to get correct for the success of the product.
What are your plans for the future of the partnership?
I always work on a fluid process – let things develop on their own. I am always talking to Woven Image on idea’s and the project with in the futurespace studio and the requirements and needs that arise from these.
