Competition between big names for this year’s event
January 17th, 2008
Entries for the 2008 AIDA have been announced, with some of the hottest Australian and international brand names in the running.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the awards, and heralds a move to include international designs across the 12 categories, creating a more global competition. Stephanie Watson, Manager of the event says, “Benchmarking local designers against their international rivals is a true reflection of the competitive environment in which Australian designers operate”.
Entries include Qantas Airways’ First Lounge at Sydney International Airport by Marc Newson (pictured), Caroma’s Profile Deluxe Toilet Suite with Integrated Hand Basin, Saab’s 9-3 BioPower ethanol-powered car, and DECA’s Pandora sound system by Marcel Wanders.
The winners will be presented in May this year.
