Employing bright, colourful finishes and furnishings and high quality images of nature, studiobd have succeeded in creating an uncharacteristically warm and relaxing dental surgery.

For many of us the dentist, and in particular a dental surgery, is associated with drills, pliers and a sense of dread. They represent a challenge, therefore, to any designer seeking to divest them of their sinister connotations, and instead use their physical context to promote a pleasant environment for workers and clients alike.
studiobd was engaged for the interior design services of Top Teeth Dental Surgery in Leichhardt, NSW. The initial concept was to bring as much ‘life’ into the surgery as possible. “The existing space was very tight and had minimal openings, so the brief was going to be a challenge. The introduction of a full size image over the entire surgery wall was how we opened up the space, and also introduced some accent colour/texture.” explains Diana Dragas, Designer at studiobd.
Coupled with timber finishes, soft furnishings, playful signage and a warm colour palette with bright highlights, the net result is that of a space that will hopefully ease anxiety, and lower the (happy) gas bill.
