The MC.2 showroom in Ubi showcases smart blind solutions such as voice-activated and app-based controls as well as wall, flooring and audio products.
March 16th, 2018
Founded by Wilson Chew, MC.2 has been in the consumer retail business in Singapore for more than 20 years. Chew’s business has expanded over the years to include window, balcony, wall, flooring and audio solutions for interior designers and homeowners. And importantly, MC.2 handles the entire supply-chain management.
MC.2 offers a range of brands including Hunter Douglas, Altex, Dooya, Elero, Nice, Polystone, SecureZIP, Somfy, Sonos, Starwalls, Toso Japan and Wood Couture. The new 4,200-square-foot showroom is a one-stop space for browsing and purchasing all these brands.

The Hunter Douglas display includes ‘intelligent shades’ that come with Alexa-powered voice control functions. Blind settings and operation can also be operated remotely via mobile devices – great news for when you’re away from home or even overseas. Being fully motorized, the blinds lack strings and therefore offer a great standard of safety for kids and pets.
Hunter Douglas will also be introducing Alustra Woven Textures to MC.2 – textiles that offer special light-filtering qualities. Amon Asian countries, this product is currently only available in Taiwan. Singapore will be the first country is South East Asia to offer it.
Toso is Japan’s number one brand for premium and made-to-order curtains, rails and blinds. Its offerings include motorised curtain tracks, Venetian blinds, Roman shades and pleated blinds.
Another special find at MC.2 is the ALTEX SecureZIP Blind, which was researched, developed and manufactured entirely in Singapore. Designed for use on balconies, patios or other private enclosed areas, SecureZIP shields the space from rain, dust on the breeze, and morning/afternoon sunlight. It also creates privacy. When the blinds are ‘zipped’, there are no gaps between the fabric and channels.

Says Chew, “Besides curtains and blinds, the exposition also features a diverse range of home fashion products including marble, timber, wallpaper, audio products and more. Traditionally, when buying curtains and blinds, most homeowners have to base their decisions on brochures, and they eventually buy the products sight unseen. We want to bridge this gap and give them the opportunity to test-drive the products themselves.”
MC.2 is located at 33 Ubi Ave 3, #01-28 Vertex, Singapore 408868.
