Retail design just got even more exciting with the opening of the first Saxony stores in Melbourne and Sydney.
September 2nd, 2010
In the last two months burgeoning brand Saxony has burst onto the retailscape with the opening of two inspiring stores in Sydney’s World Square and Melbourne Central.
The store design was the vision of Saxony’s Creative Director Stan Wan, who worked with a team of professionals, including Interni and Stag Shopfitters, to execute the ambitious project.
“The intention of the space is to completely immerse the customer in the Saxony experience”, Amy Low of Saxony told Indesignlive.com.
The spaces are both striking in their materials and construction, with a curved concrete wall arching over the displayed designs and moody lighting designed by Arup.
“We’ve had lots of architects, interior designers and builders come through to marvel at the curved concrete walls and black epoxy floor.”
To add to the brand experience, Saxony ambitiously integrated an art exhibit, curated by Low.
“The art that I’m curating for the project sees different artists explore a common inspiration throughout the course of a season. So far we’ve presented the works of Ben Ali Ong, Tara Gilbee, and Benja Harney.”
The fit-out “adds multiple layers to the customer’s brand experience, and a journey that we’re happy to be going on”.
An experience that certainly makes a remarkable contrast from the blander neighbouring boutiques.
