After a three-month refurbishment, a bubbly Paddington boutique is born.
April 12th, 2010
A bright new face for the Robby Ingham Store in Paddington has been unveiled to celebrate a new partnership with long-time friend and retailer Marlene Mangioni.
Walking down Oxford St, a matt metal screen perforated with bubble-like holes reveals a laver of pink from the wall behind, mimicing the store’s circular logo, both inside and out.
The Robby Ingham store has been renovated and extended to 250sq metres, offering a much wider range of lines including Chloe, Stella McCartney, Hache and Halston.
Inside, black gloss floors contrast against stark white walls. Collections are stored on racks along the perimeter of the space, creating a free-flow effect.
Black timber and glass counters present accessories in the middle of collection areas, offering a sense of exclusivity and preciousness to their contents.
Louvered windows at the back of the store allow natural light to illuminate the space, highlighting the quality and details of the designer clothes and take in the view of a frangipani tree.
Pink bubbles direct clients up a black stairwell guided with glass panes to a mezzanine level featuring a one-line ‘styling’ hub, in this instance Stella McCartney.
The PoCo Designs project offers a bit of fun to couture shopping and a new lease of life to the Paddington strip.
