Some of Sydney’s most recognised and innovative Architectural firms exhibit at Sydney’s Boutwell Draper Gallery this month.
February 12th, 2009
Sydney Art Gallery, Boutwell Draper Gallery, are currently exhibiting an extensive body of architectural projects from a number of Sydney’s best architecture and design firms.
James Draper and Susan Boutwell began their art gallery – concentrating on contemporary Australian artists – in 2000. At the time Draper spent most of his time running his Architectural model-making business.
This background in architecture inspired Draper and Boutwell to begin a yearly architecture-based exhibition each February. This introduction to the series will showcase a substantial portfolio of work from nine Sydney Architects.
The nine firms involved have supplied everything from original sketchbooks and drawings to models and multimedia displays:
CANDALEPAS ASSOCIATES

A fascinating look at over 20 years work from Sydney’s leading architects, Arichtecture 09 – 9 Architects, will run until 28 February 2009. Future architectural exhibitions at the gallery are likely to follow a different format, further exploring the profession of architecture.
