Visiting speakers to discuss role of designers in shaping our future world: Queensland
July 1st, 2009
Queensland graphic designers are in for a treat with two visiting international designers to hit the state’s captial for Talking Design: Design and Progressive Change.
The event, hosted by the Australian Graphic Design Association Queensland chapter, will welcome Don Ryun Chang of Korea and David Berman of Canada to the Library of Queensland.
The pair will be discussing that increasingly important question of the role of designers in a changing world, and perhaps just as importantly, the role of design business in shaping that future.
Don Ryun Chang is the founder of DC&A – one of the leading ‘indenity companies’ in Asia – who, after merging with Interbrand has worked on projects such as the FIFA World Cup (2002) and Korea Telecom.
Now and advisor Korean organisations and a published author, the award-winning Chang brings a wealth of professional experience to the event.
Joining Chang is Canada’s David Berman. With more than 20 years experience, Berman is known for his work in digital media adaptation of print materials and has been instrumental in developing a code of ethics for Canadian graphic designers.
Berman published Do Good Design – How designers can changes the world at the beginning of this year.
Talking Design is on 14 July 2009 from 4:30 pm at the State Library of Queensland. Those wishing to attend are asked to reserve their seat by Thursday 9 July on qld@agda.com.au with the subject ‘Talking Design’.
