Why not live in the boutique atmosphere of a high-end fashion house? CL3 has taken cues from high fashion for the luxury interiors of the serviced apartments at Ascott Orchard.

In recent times, more and more retail projects have been taking inspiration from residential and hospitality spaces to invoke domestic warmth that makes shoppers feel at home. The opposite is still in fashion – residential and hospitality projects taking the polish and shine of retail environments to reinforce their personality. One such fashionable example is provided by the premium serviced residences at the Ascott Orchard Singapore.
Located at the heart of Singapore’s most famous shopping district, the Ascott Orchard is a mixed-used development designed by architect RSP and owned by CapitaLand. Straddling Orchard Road and Cairnhill Road, the development is linked to Paragon shopping mall via a covered bridge and offers 220 serviced apartment units.
Hong Kong-based practice CL3 designed the interiors of the studio units, the one- and two-bedroom apartments, the lobby, the reception area, the gym and the recreation terrace garden.
Taking inspiration from its high-end shopping district context, Ascott Orchard incorporates elements from high fashion and retail environments throughout its interior. CL3 articulated this theme by incorporating the fine detail and tailoring of fashion to the interior.
The lobby and rooms are dressed in a sophisticated monochromatic palette and a selection of textures that include tweed and houndstooth. Covering floor-to-ceiling walls in both rooms and public areas, magnified fashion photographs lend a graphic quality to the space while mannequins and accessories are artfully displayed to evoke a boutique atmosphere – why only enjoy this atmosphere at the high-end shops lining the retail belts if you can live it too?
