Cosentino launched Silestone® N-Boost in two colours: you guessed it, black and white! N-Boost is a new development for Silestone. The surface of the quartz-based material is modified at the molecular level by nanotechnology, which enhances technical performance and aesthetic properties.
Global Corporate Sales EVP & CEO of Cosentino North America, Eduardo Cosentino, was at the launch, and we chatted to him before the party about the brand’s other big news: its plans to open a new $22 million facility in Gul Avenue, Singapore in July 2017.
The 35,000 square-foot office, showroom and warehouse will house over 10,000 slabs, and will focus on speeding up delivery times to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Explained Eduardo Cosentino, “At the moment, getting a container direct from Spain has about 45 days’ lead time. With the small logistic warehouse we have currently in Singapore, we try to provide material within two-to-three days. Our hope for the new location is to provide service within 24 hours.”
He said, “At the moment, South-east Asia doesn’t represent a huge percentage of our sales, but we expect huge growth in the coming years.” He added, “Singapore is one of the cities with the biggest potential in the world – not just within South-east Asia. And the location of Singapore is very strategic for providing service to the surrounding countries in the region.” An even larger new facility will be opened in Sydney around August to service the Australian market.
The party also hosted the signing of a strategic partnership between Cosentino Asia and the Interior Design Confederation of Singapore (IDCS). In addition there was a guest appearance by Chef Andre Chiang from Restaurant Andre.
