The first ever Festival of Media Asia will take place Sunday 13 – Tuesday 15 November at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. The launch, which follows 5 successful years of the global event, recognises the unprecedented growth in the region’s creative media landscape.
November 10th, 2011
The purpose of the upcoming Festival of Media 2011 is to “measure and benchmark the most outstanding media strategies and activations in the world,” says Charlie Crowe, Founder of the Festival and CEO of the organiser, C Squared.
It will focus on “industry best-practices, marketers’ perspectives and the future of consumer contact… the Festival of Media hopes to expose its participants to applicable insights and intelligence,” Crowe explains.
With a number of speakers from international communications companies such as Google, OMD, Singapore Press Holdings, Microsoft and Facebook, intangible aspects of media such as creativity and technology will be core to discussions.
Addressing the rise in online media, Crowe identifies that “the Asian region has had a high adoption rate when it comes to technology and this has definitely affected the media landscape”. But, he predicts, this will not be the end of more traditional media forms.
Rather, “many mainstream media companies are enhancing their consumer portfolio by integrating the digital platform into their offerings, in an effort to enable them to continue to connect with their audience in the digital age.”
The festival includes a welcome reception, registration, conference and awards ceremony over the three days.
