Habitus announces the lucky winners of iconic design
April 14th, 2009
As a special launch offer, Issue 01 and 02 of Habitus offered subscribers the chance to win iconic design in the form of furniture and accessories.
Thanks to Corporate Culture and Mondaine, entrants could take home one of three beautiful prizes to become part of their way of life. The competition invited readers to subscribe to the magazine and then answer the statement: “I am subscribing to Habitus because…”
Congratulations to the lucky winner of the Habitus subscription competition, Greg Smith of Brisbane, QLD, who can live in design with a Carl Hansen & Sons CH_07 armchair from Corporate Culture designed by Hans J. Wegner in lacquered oak with a leather seat, valued at $6,327. Well done Greg, we hope this fits perfectly in your home!
Greg’s winning entry was:
I am subscribing to Habitus because… “It’s the most thoughtful and well presented publication of its kind that I have seen in 20 years. The fact that it has a broader SE Asian scope is an excellent idea that sits well within an overall architectural ‘language for this Region’.”
Runners up, Susan Standring of Bridgeman Downs, QLD, and Will Sneddon from The Hill, NSW, can also enjoy the fine design of their Mondaine Swiss watches, each valued at $699. Enjoy!
Susan said:
I am subscribing to Habitus because… “Working between Oz and Singapore, I sometimes feel displaced. Habitus helps ground me… feeling connected to both locations. The size, format, visuals, text and touch of the pages – fulfils the sensory, just need recipes to imagine ‘taste’.”
Will’s entry was:
I am subscribing to Habitus because… “I’m a poor architecture student and I need the inspiration, because I actually don’t have any chairs in my apartment and also because K Rudd sent me $950 yesterday and for once I’ve actually got some money and I don’t have to wait till Christmas to convince my parents to give me money for subscriptions.
And maybe a Swiss rail clock will mean I don’t miss the train any more??”
Thank you to everyone who entered and to Corporate Culture and Mondaine for their generous support.
