Moritz Waldemeyer’s LED infused costumes for OK Go

Rising star of modern design, Moritz Waldemeyer, has over time collaborated with some of the world’s top architects and designers including Phillippe Starck, Zaha Hadid, Thomas Heatherwick and Hussein Chalayan. His latest collaboration was with the quirky Swedish rock band, OK Go, to fashion a new kind of stage design.

The band approached Waldemeyer to design some stage costumes, and his solution quite literally lights up the stage – thousands of LED lights have been stitched into the jackets of the four band members.

Recognised as one of the most innovative and exciting designers of his generation, Waldemeyer’s inspiration for the project was the flickering lights of Las Vegas. The result is an innovation in costume design, with plenty of kitsch to perfectly reflect OK Go’s own tongue-in-cheek wit.

The costumes were revealed on stage in November 2007.
