Capas (‘layers’ in Spanish) is a new cardboard furniture range designed by Peruvian Architect Luis Gomez Siu.
December 1st, 2013
When he moved to Australia he had the idea to furnish his place with materials he could easily source and put together himself. He decided then to take one of his former designs and recreate one of the pieces from that range, but this time made out of cardboard, creating Capas Furniture.
Capas Furniture is made out of layered cardboard sheets with leather and felt elements, light in weight, and surprisingly more durable than one would imagine.
All pieces are put together individually by hand and come with their distinctive surrounding leather belt.
These unique pieces are rich in texture and a must have if you are a fan of paper and cardboard. They can also be made to order to suit specific size and colour requirements.
